Vietnam Museum of Ethnography is located on a 4ha – campus. It was built at the end of 1987 and opened in 1997. This is a construction designed by the architect Ha Duc Linh and the French female architect Veronique. The museum includes 3 areas: kettledrum house gallery, outside gallery and Southeast Asia gallery.

The kettledrum gallery is 2.500m2 of area, it has 2 floors which is divided into 9 themes to introduce about the Vietnamese nations’s culture and the exchange between them.

The Southeast Asia gallery is used for display the pictures about the diversity in culture of Southeast people that includes 5 subjects: lines, daily life, social life, performing arts, and religions.

With 15.000 artifacts, 42.000 films and pictures, 2190 positive films, 273 records, 373 video, and 25 CD-Rooms, Vietnam Museum of Ethnography is an attractive destination for not only Vietnamese but also foreign visitors. It is also the place where a lot of culture activities are taken place.
